CHILD ABUSE: Heartless Parents who beat up and WATERBOARDED their three young children jailed in US

 

Lakechia Schonta Stanley, 34, from St Louis, US--pleaded guilty to a total of 34 charges, including incliding whipping, beating and Waterboarding her three children has been sentenced to 78 years in prison. While her husband Andrew Stanley, who pleaded guilty last year to related charges, got sentenced to 160 years in prison.

Lakechia was sentenced on Friday, Nov. 14th, after admitting to putting her children in a prolonged pattern of abuse and several counts of assault and endangering the welfare of a child that prosecutors described as "systematic torture," SLT Today reported. (Read more after the cut)

The shocking scale of abuse came to light in 2011 when one of the children, aged 10 years old then, told her school librarian she had a severe pain in her arm. She was taken to hospital were doctors established that she had been hit with such force that the blood supply to her limb was restricted. Later revealed that her mum-Schonta,  had beaten her with a baseball bat because she had not cleaned the kitchen quickly enough. The girl also, told the librarian that her sister, then age 8, was also beaten with a bat because she had taken too long to shower. 

"What the defendant did to three of her own children far exceeds the definition of child abuse and amounts to systematic torture. She was supposed to be their mother, the one person they could trust. Instead she became a symbol of betrayal and fear, using every tool at her disposal to beat and torture her own innocent children," Assistant circuit attorney Tanja Engelhardt said during sentencing.

Further interviews with the girls, according  to prosecutors, revealed prolonged abuse that included waterboarded,  being whipped with electrical cords, forced into scalding or freezing showers, and beaten with several blunt objects.  Other further medical examination showed significant scarring  all across the bodies of the three children and suffered severe emotional trauma from their ordeal

Andrew Rui Stanley, 30, Lakechia's husband, pleaded guilty to 42 felony counts on related charges, plus submitted Alford pleas on additional counts last year and was sentenced to 160 years in prison.
