Boko Haram attacks Cameroon town, several killed

Boko Haram fighters went on the rampage in the Cameroonian border town of Fotokol today, Wednesday, Jan 4th; massacring civilians and torching a mosque before being repelled by regional forces.

The onslaught came a day after Chad sent troops across the border to flush insurgents out of the Nigerian town of Gamboru, which lies some 500 metres (yards) from Fotokol on the other side of a bridge.

Chad’s army said it had killed more than 200 Boko Haram militants in the intervention — the first by regional forces against Boko Haram on its home ground.

But some of the insurgents escaped and slipped back across the border into Fotokol at dawn to make a fresh stand.

“Boko Haram inflicted so much damage here this morning. They have killed dozens of people,” Umar Babakalli, a resident of Fotokol, told AFP on telephone.

Several residents said civilians’ throats were slit and that the town’s main mosque was torched.

“They burnt houses and killed civilians as well as soldiers,” a source close to security forces said.

Another resident who had fled to another town told AFP he knew of at least 10 people who had been killed.

After several hours of clashes, Cameroonian troops, backed by Chadian forces who scrambled back from Nigeria to help guard the town, managed to repel the assault.

“People are coming back little by little to assess the damage. The survivors among the attackers have left the town,” a source close to the Cameroonian security services said.

Fashola - I Won’t Collect My PVC Until Lagosians Collect Theirs

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babatunde Fashola, yesterday Jan. 3rd revealed he won't collect his Permanent Voters Card (PVC) until majority of Lagosians must have received theirs because a captain does not leave a ship when there is crisis.

Governor Fashola (SAN) made this known while updating the State House Correspondents at Lagos House, Ikeja on what transpired at his meeting earlier in the day with the Independent National Electoral Commissioner in Lagos, Mr Akin Orebiyi, who paid him a courtesy visit, stated that he has been briefed about the readiness of INEC to commence the distribution exercise from Wednesday 8.30a.m to 5.30p.m in the evening daily and lasting till Sunday.
“A captain does not leave a ship when there is crisis and I must make sure all the passengers are safely evacuated so I want Lagosians to get theirs first. As a Governor, I enjoy certain privileges but I can’t go ahead of them so I want them to take the fullest benefit of this exercise before I collect mine”. Mr. Fashola said
He advised all those who have registered freshly to also proceed to the Polling Units where INEC has made arrangements to distribute the PVC to them, stressing that in case there are difficulties the state Government would continue to work with INEC towards providing solutions.

“I would keep an eye to see this new phase of the exercise. It allows the people the opportunity to vote and as I said, this exercise would start tomorrow. There is five days to do this, so that as many people as possible and hopefully everybody who is registered can get theirs at their poling units”, he stated.
I know people have tried. I have heard people say they have been to the places, the Ward Offices eight times and some four times and for me if you have made that kind of efforts, the real success must come in not giving up and I don’t give up and that is why I continue to address the issue. I have made State broadcasts, I have granted interviews, I won’t give up on our people. They must get a chance to participates so the people themselves must be willing to persist and to persevere so that they will get an opportunity to have a say in how their affairs are ordered by being able to vote at the next elections”, he explained.
Responding to a question on what his views are concerning the various court cases being instituted against the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate on his eligibility, the Governor said he has heard about some of the law suits but doesn’t really have the full details of what the claims are.

UAE Company Makes Compression Suits for Camels(Unusual UAE)

It is said that high quality sportswear can improve performance in human athletes, I'm then sure it's the reason why a United Arab Emirate's luxury product company Al Shibla believes it should work for animals as well.

Al Shibla recently launched a line of lycra-style outfits for camels, and they claim that this bizarre product has already garnered tremendous interest among stable owners in the Middle East.
However, it is a known fact that compression suits are worn by race horses around the world to improve performance, but the owners of Al Shibla believe camels deserve the very best in comfort when one says clothing. “If it’s fitting the horse, why we don’t do it for the camel?” asked Anne Wolter, co-founder and head of research and development.
Lycra-style outfits, which comes in different colours are made of soft, thick material that covers the body, the suits improve blood circulation; increases blood and oxygen supply to the muscles, reduces the lactic acid build-up that causes cramping; and could be worn before and after training.
In a sales pitch statement of the company, it is designed for use before and after races, and are meant to serve a dual purpose. “The full body suit can help racing camels run faster, while the cream of the species entered into camel beauty contests will have the ability to stand taller after using the suit. The suits can also be used during transportation, when camels tend to lose a lot of weight due to stress hormones working overtime."

Frankly Speaking - My Wife's Sister Is Pregnant For Me, Demands I Marry Her Before Valentine's Day (Feb. 14) Or...

My love turned lust has led me into a big mess and i don't know how to go about it. Can't tell my mum. I also do not know how to break the news to my dad.  Please dear readers I need your candid advise, your opinion, what you have to say for me to get  my head and home in order before it becomes hell on earth.

Call me John, a young and vibrant Engineer, married to a very beautiful woman. We have a son. My problem began the day of my traditional marriage. My wife has always talked about her immediate young sister, her beauty and natural endowment. She was then in London for her masters but flew in 2 weeks before the Traditional wedding in honour of my wife.

Frankly speaking, she's Kim K and Nicki Minaj in one. I couldn't take my eyes off her all through the 3 days she spent in our home before she and my wife made it down to the village to finalize every other needed to do for the D-day.

When she returned back to Nigeria after her Masters, She stayed with us as she searched for a job and an apartment. One night my wife begged to let her stay as long as she would. I accepted. Within a week "things" began to happen between us under my wife's nose. She told me how much she loved and cherished plus adored me from the very first day she noticed how my eyes got fixed on her.

Even Al-Qaeda condemn murder of Jordanian pilot as 'deviant'... and leading Muslim cleric calls for ISIS militants to be killed, crucified and have limbs 'chopped

Islamic clerics have condemned the burning of Jordan Pilot by ISIS and has called for those responsible must face "killing, crucifixion and chopping of the limbs." - an act even Al-Qaeda condemned as 'deviant'.

The head of Sunni Islam's top university has called for the crucifixion of Islamic State militants over the burning of a Jordanian fighter pilot - an act even Al-Qaeda condemned as 'deviant'.

Responding to the murder of Moaz al-Kasasbeh, the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar university in Cairo, Ahmed al-Tayib, said those responsible must face 'killing, crucifixion and chopping of the limbs.'
According to UK Daily Mail, His judgement came as a Twitter account linked to Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, the Yemeni branch of the terror group, denounced the killing as 'conclusive proof of Isis' deviance'.
The so-called Islamic State showed the gruesome killing of Kasasbeh in a video on Tuesday. He was captured in Syria in December when his plane went down during a bombing mission.

Footage circulated online showed the 26-year-old locked in a cage, doused with fuel and torched. Jordan immediately executed two Islamic State-linked death row prisoners in revenge for the killing.

Muslim clerics widely condemned Kasasbeh's burning, saying such a form of killing was considered despicable by Islam, no matter the context.
The 1,000-year-old Al-Azhar university, which is revered by Sunni Muslims around the world, issued a statement expressing 'deep anger over the lowly terrorist act' by what it called a 'Satanic' group.
Grand Sheikh Tayib said the act 'requires the punishment mentioned in the Koran for these corrupt oppressors who fight against God and his prophet: killing, crucifixion or chopping of the limbs.'

Meet The Man Who Killed The Crocodile That Ate His Wife

A man whose pregnant wife was dragged away by a 1,300lb crocodile took revenge on the beast by slicing it open with a spear in a fight to the death.
Mubarak Batambuze-Fisherman is now hailed a hero by friends and neighbours since he slew the 25ft-long monster, which snatched his wife Demeteriya Nabire as she went to collect water from the Uganda's Lake Kyoga with group of women.
50-year-old Mubarak, who spent an hour and a half in mortal combat with the beast, and puts his victory down to a special weapon made solely for the battle told BBC his story.

Four months ago, pregnant Demeteriya Nabire was killed by a crocodile along with her unborn child; but then last month her husband heard the crocodile had returned and decided to take his revenge.

Narrating his story, Mubarak said, "Somebody called me and said, 'Mubarak, I have news for you - the crocodile that took your wife is here - we are looking at it now." He was a very big monster, and we tried fighting him with stones and sticks. But there was nothing we could do."
So Batambuze went to visit the local blacksmith...
"I explained to him that I was fighting a beast that had snatched and killed my wife and unborn baby. I really wanted my revenge, and asked the blacksmith to make me a spear that could kill the crocodile dead. The Blacksmith asked me for £3.20 ($5) and made the spear for me," he says. It was a significant amount of money for Batambuze, but he was determined to kill the animal that had snatched his future."
"The crocodile ate my wife entirely. Nothing was ever seen of her again - no clothes, no part of her body that I could identify. I just didn't know what to do - a mother and her unborn child. It was the end of my world. I was completely lost."

Merfest convention sees 300 mermaids and mermen show off flowing hair, shell bras and ornate TAILS costing up to £2,500

Merfest convention in Cary, North Carolina, saw over 300 mermaids and mermen as men and women came together to celebrate being mermaids last month - January to mark the yearly convention.
Colourful tails and shell bras of attendees cost up to a whooping £2,500 ($4000) as they took workshops on underwater modelling; how to hold their breath, and swam with Hannah Fraser, a professional mermaid and environmental activist.
If you are dreaming of being a Mermaid since your childhood after seeing a movie, reading a book, going to the beach or an aquarium., a day at the annual Merfest convention can make that dream come throug. Mind you putting on a tail requires a lot of effort, but no fear for there would be mertender to assist you in an out of their tails at poolside; even use a lubricant like coconut oil if need be.

Speaking at the Merfest, Sean Norman, a mertender, said that the act of getting your scales on is anything but glamorous.
"It's tricky getting some of these tails on. They're kind of grippy on the skin and it's an awkward situation. You can't look graceful getting into these things, so what I try to do is just help out a little bit and ease that moment of frustration so you can get to the fun part.' Sean said

This year's Merfest convention also saw the first wedding - between Cookie Ramirez and her mertender, Ralph de Jesus.

You can tell how their fellow mermaid and mertender well-wishers congratulated them - they splashed their tails to as the happy couple kissed to seal the matrimony. (view more pics after the cut..)

N30trn Can't Go Missing Under Her - Nuhu Ribadu defends Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala

The PDP Governorship candidate in Adamawa state and Former EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu has defended the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala says the claims by former CBN Governor Charles Soludo that N30trn had gone missing under her watch is far from the truth and completely impossible.

Ribadu said this in an interview with NAN. He said that it was not possible to have such a huge amount of money go missing in an office she assumed about three to four years ago because Minister of Finance has an impeccable record having monitored her while she was minister under Former President Olusegun Obasanjo

"I was baffled and got deluded for anyone to say that N30 trillion got lost. I think we just have to look at what we earn as a country and what our budget had been in these few years and see how possible it is. If everything we earned is not up to that within the period she has been the minister, which is about three to four years, then we need to be careful. We need to be careful to avoid more damage to our nation, because there are certain things that when it comes out, it will never go back again."
"I challenge anybody to say that she stole N1 at that time; we were all there. I was in charge of EFCC and I want to hear anybody say that she did this and that. I followed her up till now. I think it is somehow uncharitable for someone to come out to say that such an amount of money was missing under her watch. When I worked with her, she exhibited a nationalistic attitude that was not questionable and believed in any policy that could take Nigeria and its people high. I am close to almost all of us that worked together as a team and I know that Ngozi continues to do what she knows how best to do, which is to serve Nigeria. She managed this economy fairly in spite of all the challenges and difficulties; it is sad for someone to look at Ngozi and said that she has a hand in it (alleged missing funds). This pull-down syndrome has to stop and we must manage ourselves very well; I am not happy now with what is going on and I think that if it is politics, I think it is something that is hurting us as people and hurting the economy as well,” he said.

She revealed not only Gavin a handsome guy but he sure makes really cute babies.

But I do think he's quite handsome. It's not the most important thing about him, but it is nice...and he makes really cute babies!" She said.

On her marriage to Gavin Rossdale:

"We go through so much together—it's a miracle that we could stay together this long. [Gavin's] on a short tour right now, and he wrote me the sweetest note this morning. Pastors collected N6b to campaign against APC, Buhari - Amaechi

The Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, who is also the DG of the APC campaign organization has accused the PDP of paying some Pastors N6billion to campaign againts the APC and its presidential candidate, Gen Buhari. Mr. Rotimi Amaechi made the allegation during the state's APC governorship candidate, Dr Dakuku Adol Peterside's campaign in Emohua local government area of Rivers State yesterday, Jan. 3rd.
"Some pastors collected N6 billion and they are circulating documents and telling you not to vote for an Hausa man, not to vote for a Muslim because they want to Islamise Nigeria. Tell them to return our N6 billion. They gave them N6 billion. They should return it to the Federal Government coffers. They will tell you that Buhari wants to Islamise Nigeria. Tell them we are too educated. I am a Catholic, but no Catholic priest has told me that story right now in the Catholic Church, because I will ask him how. If any Pastor tells you that, tell him to return the money. Nobody can Islamise Nigeria. They have commercialized Jesus Christ. They should stop commercializing Jesus Christ. He is our Lord and Saviour. You know what Jesus Christ did in the temple. He chased them away. We shall chase away those pastors who collected money from PDP leaders to tell us lies. We shall chase them away on behalf of our Lord Jesus Christ.” he alledged

Captured Jordanian pilot burnt alive in a cage by ISIS

The 27 year old Jordanian pilot who was captured by ISIS militants after his warplane crashed while he was conducting airstrikes over Syria in December 2014, has been killed by ISIS by burning, even after much plea for his released.
The deadly terrorists released a video yesterday showing the brutal murder of Lieutenant Moaz al-Kasasbeh; as he was burnt alive while locked in a cage. However, the Jordanian military believe he was killed on Jan. 3rd.
In the footage titled 'Healing the Believers Chest', the militants pour petrol on Moaz, who was wearing an orange jumpsuit, and set him alight.

Following the release of the ISIS video, the Jordanian government moved five ISIS prisoners to another prison alongside a statement saying all 5, including the failed female suicide bomber whom ISIS had originally demanded Jordan release in exchange for the pilot, will be executed tonight.

I won’t respond to Soludo’s N30trn claim – Okonjo-Iweala

Co-ordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala yesterday said that she would not respond to former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Dr Chukwuma Soludo’s accusation over the missing N30 trillion under her watch. This is even as the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) insisted that she must tell Nigerians all she knew about the money.

In a radio programme, ‘Political Platform’ on African Independent Television (AIT) aired yesterday, the minister said that she would not join issues with what did not happen, The Sun reports.
However, Okonjo-Iweala admitted that Nigerians would face some hardship following the drop in the international oil price.
She said the withdrawal of the Medium Term Fiscal Framework (MTEF) was to accommodate the volatility in the oil market, noting that some civil servants received their salaries late because the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS) machine locked out some 15 agencies who may have fed the machine with names outside the original list. Soludo had earlier alleged that over N30 trillion was stolen under the watch of the minister.
Okonjo-Iweala had, in a statement said Soludo bungled the bank consolidation policy of the Obasanjo administration, saying that the former CBN governor is an embittered loser in the political space.

Chinese People Hilarious Names For Hollywood Stars - Katy Perry called (Fruit Sister) and Nicki Minaj is Known As (Numbing-Spicy Chicken)...lmao

Its so funny, that I have laughed till tears run down my cheeks. What a name to these admired and celebrated Hollywood stars! Oh China! Seriously? "shui guo jie?" "luo ba?" "ma la ji?"

Ok beautiful readers, CNN has complied some of the names Chinese people call a number of celebs in Hollywood, and its quite interesting. Katy Perry is called "Fruit Sister" - "shui guo jie" while J.Lo is known as "Lord of Butt - "luo ba" and Mariah Carey is referred as "Cow Sister" - "niu jie."

Let me not spoil the fun for you...check out the names and why below...

katy Perry
Katy Perry - "Fruit Sister"

During the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Chinese Internet users were abuzz about a woman called "Fruit Sister." And the "Fruit Sister," or "shui guo jie," is Katy Perry -- referring to her tendency to wear fruit costumes and bring giant fruit with her on stage.

However, in the past, the pop star has performed in sparkly, watermelon-cup bras, sung while holding a large inflatable strawberry, and even burst out of a giant banana. She's also talked about growing and eating her own fruit. (Do you think it's a pretty fair nickname?)

Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez - "Lord of Butt"

In Hong Kong and China J.Lo is "luo ba," which translates to "Lord of Butt."

According to CNN, It's actually a bit of a pun. "Luo ba" sounds similar to how Chinese people transliterate J-Lo's last name, "Luo pei zi." Either way, it's a fitting moniker for the superstar who revealed her bare behind in the music video for her song, "Booty."

Benedict Cumberbatch
Benedict Cumberbatch - "Curly Blessing"

Benedict Cumberbatch is known as "Curly Blessing," or "juan fu."
In Mandarin, "juan" means curly, referring to Cumberbatch's curly hairstyle in his role as Sherlock Holmes. While "Fu" means happiness, fortune, or blessing -- and it's also the first part of the Chinese name for Sherlock Holmes.
Put those two together and you get something like "Curly Sherlock" or more poetically, "Curly Blessing."

Forked tongues, vampire teeth and tattooed eyeballs to mention but a few.

Gen Buhari Replaces Debates With Town Hall Meetings In Major Cities

Against the backdrop of its decision to boycott the presidential debates, the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation, APCPCO, has announced its decision to take to town hall meetings in major cities of the federation rather then its presidential candidate-Gen. Buhari sit among other 13 contestants including President Goodluck of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Presidential Debate.

The Party claims its a better medium for Gen Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate, Yemi Osinbajo to interact and explain directly to citizens the policy thrust of their envisaged administration and how the set objectives of the APC will be achieved. (If I may ask, is it the best means? How many Nigerians would they be able to reach at these said Town Hall Meetings? A debate is a live broadcast through both TV and Radio--Well, like I said, there are only questions o o...)

continue....

The statement signed by Garba Shehu, Director of Media and Publicity of the Campaign, said the Town Hall meetings would create avenue for a one-on-one interactions between Nigerians and Buhari/Osibanjo.
“Our campaign decided to chart this path because we cannot afford to shy away from the more pressing urgency to have one-on-one interactions with Nigerians through town hall meetings.

The Statement read----
"The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation wishes to announce the commencement of town hall meetings ahead of the February 14 presidential election. Due to the more pressing urgency to have an open interaction with Nigerians, the campaign will be organising town hall meetings in different parts of the country."
“The town hall meetings kicked off today (Monday) in Lagos with a public interaction between the presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, his running mate Professor Yemi Osinbajo and representatives of Organised Private Sector.
“On Tuesday, the town hall meeting will hold in Kano with traders and market associations. Thereafter, the meeting will hold in Benin with labour and civil society leaders.
“The focus of the town hall meeting will then shift to Ibadan where students and youth groups will be engaging General Buhari and Professor Osinbajo, while Enugu and Port Harcourt will follow suit.
“The direction that the campaign will be moving in the countdown to the election day is to have as many as possible person-to-person interactive sessions for Nigerians to hear directly from the presidential candidate and his running mate.”

Over N30tn Stolen Under Your Watch – Soludo Hits Back On Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala

Again, Renowned economist the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)  Prof. Charles Soludo hits back on the incubement  Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala  after the Minister's response on his lengthy article (read here) titled Buhari vs Jonathan, Beyond the elections. This time, Prof. Soludo on Sunday, Feb. 1st alleged that over N30tn had been stolen under the watch of the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Read is article below...
I read some of the responses to my article, “Buhari vs Jonathan: Beyond the Election”, and I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the debate. I am glad that the debate has finally taken off. I have decided, for the record, to re-enter the debate if only to set some records straight and hopefully elevate the debate further. Whom do I respond to? First, let me thank Gov Kayode Fayemi for his very mature and professional response on behalf of the APC. It forms a great basis for deepening the conversation. Pat Utomi, Oby Ezekwesili, Iyabo Obasanjo, and thousands of other patriotic Nigerians have raised the content of the debate. Femi Fani-Kayode made me laugh, as usual. The Gov. Jang faction of the Governors’ Forum played the usual politics, although I know what most of them think privately. Who else? Oh, Peter Obi. Well, since he can’t write and designated Valentine as usual to write for him (who never disputed the NBS statistics that Obi broke world record in the pauperization of Anambra people but instead focused on lies and abuses) I won’t dignify him with a response here. His third class performance in Anambra will be the subject of a comprehensive article later.

Here, I will focus on Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s response (as Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy—CME and hence on behalf of the Federal Government). Since I have known her, out of deep respect, I have never called her by her name: I call her Madam. I must state that I have great pains seeing myself on the opposite side of the table with Madam, in this way. I respect you, Madam, and will always do. If you read my article of September 2010 (before you became Minister), the tone and elucidation were as strong as the current one. It is my honest effort to ensure that our choice of leaders is based on rigorous scrutiny of what is on offer. Part of my frustration is that five years after, everything I warned about has come to happen and we are conducting our campaigns as if we are not in crisis. As a concerned Nigerian, I have a duty to speak out again. Regrettably, you have taken it very personal.

I am not bothered about the personal abuses: I actually expected worse. What name has the government not called President Obasanjo or any person who has dared to disagree with it of late? Anyone who disagrees with the government must either be ‘insane’ or have a ‘character’ deficiency or must be ‘looking for a job’ or ‘without honour’, or a ‘charlatan’. Yesterday, Sanusi alleged that $20 billion was missing and he was accused of gross financial mismanagement, recklessness and poor governance to the point of being the first governor of central bank to be suspended from office. Today, he is the good one; and for daring to award an “F” grade for our economic performance, Soludo has become the ‘worst’ and ‘without character’ or perhaps ‘looking for position’ (Lol!). Some days ago, a former president was called ‘a motor park tout’ and ‘un-statesmanly’ just for disagreeing. This “how dare you criticise us” mind-set of the government is dangerous for our democracy. In this Part One of my planned three part series, I will restrict it to the main issues you raised. I will not bother about the malicious attacks on my person. For me, it is nothing personal. In early 2011, I had a similar heated exchange with then Finance Minister Segun Aganga. But when the Nigerian economy was at stake and he invited me to a stakeholders meeting in his office (as Minister of Trade and Investment) to discuss Nigeria’s response to the ruinous EU- Economic Partnership for Africa (EPA), I flew into Nigeria for that (at my expense)— the first and only time I have been to any government office to discuss policy since I left office. It is about Nigeria.

I will, as expected, remind people like you of the salient aspects of my record of public service in response to your charge; challenge your claim to debt relief, and your reason for not saving; highlight your forgery of economic statistics and the lies in your response; but most importantly re-focus our attention to the historic mismanagement of our economy which you carefully avoided. I will show that while you are introducing austerity measures and soon to immiserate the citizens, our public finance is haemorrhaging to the point that estimated over N30 trillion is missing or stolen or unaccounted for, or simply mismanaged— under your watch! We can’t go on like this, and I am convinced that an alternative future is possible. Can we have a public debate on this alternative future? The issues at stake are too grave to be trivialized through name calling. As I write, the naira exchange rate to the dollar is at N215 (from N158 a few months ago) and unless oil price recovers, this is just the beginning. For the sake of Nigeria, I won’t keep quiet anymore! Let me start with Madam’s rather comical, wild judgment on my tenure of office which I believe to be totally false and baseless. I apologise upfront that in the process of making a ‘personal defence’, it is difficult to avoid a rather uncomfortable emphasis on “I”. I did not want that but since Madam has dragged us this low, I have little choice but to do so in the next few paragraphs—just to keep the record straight! In my view, there are three criteria for evaluating a public officer’s stewardship: the evaluation by his employer; the satisfaction of the public he served; and the hard facts of performance. As I will show on these three counts, I am convinced that I left a world record of public service, and a thousand Okonjo-Iwealas cannot re-write that history.

I served Nigeria under two presidents (Obasanjo and Yar’Adua) and as my immediate bosses, below are their written testimonials of my record. Said President Obasanjo (December 2004): “Charles Soludo is a true Nigerian. He is the sort of Nigerian that we all know we can rely on. Among his numerous virtues is COURAGE. I have found in him a man who can take tough and realistic decisions, stand his ground, educate others on the salience of his decision, and work very hard to ensure that the decision is efficiently and effectively implemented. His dedication to duty is first rate. His leadership qualities are admirable and his willingness to listen and learn is simply infectious. Professor Soludo has within a short time emerged as one of the leading lights of our nation. Not because he has a godfather but by sheer hard work, loyalty, dedication to duty, commitment to the nation, creativity, and undiluted association with the reform agenda….” President Yar’Adua (May 2009) had the following to say about the Central Bank of Nigeria under my leadership: “… the CBN has performed creditably well in delivering on its core mandates. This is especially even more so in the last five years. Most people would agree that without the successful banking consolidation and effective management of our foreign reserves, the current global crisis would have shaken the financial system and our national economy to their foundations with calamitous consequences”.
