Police arrest two rams for attacking 65-year-old woman in Ekiti

Its so funny that I can't just stop laughing. Why would the police arrest any animal? Are they not supposed to arrest the owner of the animal for not keeping them away from harming any human within the area(s) where they are being reared? Read to report below...enjoy...

 

  

The Ekiti state police command has arrested two rams in Ado-Ekiti for attacking a 65 year old woman identified as Iya Oyo. 

According to Iya Oyo, she on her way to a commercial bank in Okesa area with her son on Monday to debit her account when two rams allegedly owned by a manager of a petrol station in the area went berserk and gored her, fracturing her right thigh in the process. She said the attack immediately brought her to the ground, causing her to become unconscious till she found herself at a traditional orthopedic clinic where she regained consciousness. 

Sammy Okposo Publicly Apologizes After Insulting Buhari For Forging His School Certificate

 

Award-winning gospel musician and producer Sammie Okposo has publicly apologize to the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, for his recent remarks accusing Buhari of perjury and of forging the school certificates (read here). Sammy did so using his twitter handle (See tweet above)

 

In his earlier remarks on Instagram, Mr. Okposo said that whoever that forged the certificate or Buhari himself should be flogged. But angry fans didn't see that comment appropriate as they lashed on Sammy on social media, which led him to apologize to GBM and all others who he must have offended with through his post on Buhari's certificate forgery. Saudi Arabia buries King Abdullah in an unmarked grave

The body of Saudia Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, who died today at 1am Saudia Arabia's time has been laid to rest in an unmarked grave in Riyadh according to Islamic tradition this afternoon.

Family, friends and dignitaries from the Arab world crowded around the grave to pay their final respects following the monarch's funeral this afternoon. Also, Thousands of mourners took to the streets of the capital and Mecca to pay their respects to the late king. 

The royal died aged 90 after losing his battle with pneumonia. Some world leaders including Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Turkey's President Tayyip Erdoganhave were at the funeral. Meanwhile many others world learders are expected to visit the royal family in condolence. Robbers cart away N6m church offering, arrested in Ogun

Police in Ogun State have arrested a robbery suspect, identified as So­moye, who allegedly led his gang to rob a church (names withheld) in the Ibara GRA area of Abeo­kuta of N6 million cash.

The gang was also alleged to have dispossessed congre­gation of their cash and other valuables.

According to Sunnewsonline, Somoye had led his rob­bery gang to rob the church of the cash and valuables during an anniversary ser­vice last Sunday.

President Jonathan's dead sister being buried today

 

President Goodluck Jonathan’s younger sister, Mrs. Nancy Jonathan-Olei, who died on January 4, 2015, is to be buried today, in Otuoke, Bayelsa State.

In a statement the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, Mrs. Jonathan-Olei’s body will leave the Otuoke Comprehensive Hospital Mortuary at 9 a.m. for her residence in Otuoke.

Her remains will be received by members of her family at her residence and later, moved to the Dame Patience Jonathan Square for a Service of Songs scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

Grace's cute face and adorable killer smile with her little hands folded beneath her chin caught the Judges attention and they couldn't let go. This baby must be a super model in the future.

UK to deport 5-year-old Nigerian boy Rafeeq Atanda, mum pleads

A Nigerian mum on Wednesday pleaded with the UK Govt to allow her son remain in the country hours before he was due to be deported to Nigeria, a country his mother says he's never lived in.

5 year old Rafeeq Atanda (pictured above) and his mother Bola Fatunbi, were held on Wednesday night at the immigration center in London ahead on the scheduled deportation yesterday. Looks like they may even have been deported.

"Speaking from the centre, Bola told the Evening Chronicle: “I feel safe in Gateshead, but we have no one in Nigeria. Rafeeq was born here, he goes to school here and is doing well, it is so very hard for us. There are so many kidnappings and frightening things with Boko Haram happening in Nigeria, it would not be safe.”

Fighting back tears, Bola, 30, told how she had first come to the UK following the death of her parents and brothers and sisters in a car tragedy in Nigeria in 1997.

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah bin is Dead, Aged 90

 

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz has passed away at the age of 90. The monarch died at 1am this morning (Friday - Saudi time) in his home. The announcement of his death was made in a statement broadcast on Saudi state TV.

"His Highness Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and all members of the family and the nation mourn the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, who passed away at exactly 1am this morning (Friday - Saudi time)," the statement said.

Abdullah became king in 2005 after the death of his half-brother King Fahd. Meanwhile, the late king's brother, Salman, 79, has been announced as the new ruler of the kingdom. Services will be held Friday afternoon at the Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Grand Mosque in Riyadh, and many world leaders would pay their respects.

Woman Sells Her Neighbour's Baby For N250k in Delta - In Police Net

A desperate housewife who lives in Akwukwu-Igbo community near Asaba, Delta State, Eunice (surname withheld), has allegedly stolen a two-year-old neighbour’s baby and sold it for N250,000.00.

Reports said that the woman, who is currently helping the police and cooling off her heels at the state’s police, CID, Asaba, was said to have arranged for the sale of the baby with a woman who was said to have been married for 18 years without a child in Lagos before the bubble burst.

It was reliably gathered that a trusted neighbour had last Wednesday appealed to Eunice to help look after the baby   to enable her buy some food items in a neighbouring community’s market.

Agric Minister Confirms Cases Of Bird Flu In Seven Nigerian States

   

The Federal government has confirmed that the highly transmittable avian influenza viral disease--aka--Bird flu has spread to five more states asides Lagos and Kano where it was first recorded in Nigeria earlier this month (January 8th). The states with the latest cases of the disease in poultry animals are Ogun, Delta, Rivers, Edo and Plateau states.

Speaking at a news conference in Abuja yesterday, Jan 21st the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Akinwunmi Adesina said the bird flu exposures had resulted in the mortality of over 22,573 of the birds across the country.

According to the Minister, adequate measures had been put in place to contain the spread of the disease to other parts of the country, he advised Nigerians to ensure proper hygiene and ensure proper cooking of poultry products. Also, plans are underway to pay insurance benefits to owners of the affected poultry.

Hero Muslim employee who saved lives at Paris supermarket granted citizenship by France

 

24-year-old Lassana Bathily, the Mali-born Muslim employee (pictured above) that saved the lives of several shoppers at Kosher supermarket during the Paris attack that left 4 dead, has been granted French citizenship by France.

Lassana bravely guided terrified customers to safety in a supermarket chiller when terrorist Amedy Coulibaly burst into the supermarket and killed 4 people on January 9th. According to reports, Lassana was in the store's underground stockroom at the time, hid many customers in a freezer, then escaped and gave police valuable information about what was happening inside. 

As reward for such display of bravery, the French government granted him citizenship during a ceremony that held today, saying his 'act of humanity has become a symbol of an Islam of peace and tolerance.'

Singer Niyola reveals she was molested growing up...what she said

Such people should actually be punished and brought to book."

Iranian football players warned not to take selfies with female fans in Australia

Iranian football players have been warned not to take selfies with female fans or be punished if they default because it is against their 'moral principles'. 

Taking selfies with men are allowed. However, Iran made the threats to players after photos of some of them posing with some female fans, who are mostly Iranian-born who live in Australia, went viral on social media, especially the one that showed a female fan wearing a midriff top, while holding an Iranian flag with the words "Will Alireza marry me?" Alireza Haghighi is the Iranian goalkeeper. (see the pic after the cut..)

Leader (Abubakar Shekau) of the deadly Islamic sect Boko Haram, released a new video yesterday titled 'MESSAGE TO THE WORLD FROM IMAM SHEKAU (BAGA)''--where he talked about the massacre they carried out in Baga, Borno state recently. Shekau claimed responsibility for the attack, in the 35 mins video posted on Youtube. He stated that his lord instructed him to do so in his book.
