Do you know that Mirror-Trained Monkeys Like Looking at Themselves?

A new study has revealed that humans aren't the only animals that love to admire themselves in a mirror. The study says that monkeys have also figured out what the mirror is used for just with a little training.

The study, published in the journal Current Biology, proves that animals can be taught how to use a mirror because the skill required is only tied to self-recognition—and they(monkeys) understand that the reflections are of themselves.

“Our findings suggest that the monkey brain has the basic ‘hardware’ [for mirror self-recognition], but they need appropriate training to acquire the ‘software’ to achieve self-recognition,” lead author Neng Gong of the Chinese Academy of Sciences said in a press release.

10 year old suicide bomber blows self up at Maiduguri market

According to a Military source that confirmed the explosion which is said to have happen at Maiduguri market around 12:30pm today, Jan, 10th; a 10-year-old female suicide bomber blew herself beyond recognition killing at least 10 and injuring others at the popular Maiduguri poultry market in Borno state. The child suicide bomber is said to have been strapped with explosives that were so heavy which flung her body 500m away from the scene after she exploded.

"Her body was completely shattered,” he said. “Because of the high calibre explosive she strapped to her body, the upper part of her body was flung apart and found about 500 metres away" he said

2 Gunmen, who storm French magazine office where 12 staff died, identified

 

2 gunmen (pictured above) who stormed the headquarters of French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo, yesterday afternoon and opened fire on staff, killing 12 people and wounding 10, including reporters, administrative staff and two police police officers has been identified.

The Brothers, who are both from Paris are Cherif Kouachi (left), 32, & Said Kouachi (right), 34. A third suspect, 18 year old Hamyd Mourad, who didn't fire any shorts, surrendered to police late last night after seeing his name circulating on social media.
