Heavy Traffic on Lagos Roads as PDP Starts It's Campaign Today

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) kicks off its Presidential campaign in Lagos today, Jan. 8th. There would be heavy traffic on Lagos Roads especially at Onikan/TBS. Read a broadcast message from Bayo Alimi below..

Good morning

As the PDP begins its campaign today in Lagos, please read below and plan your journey.

1.   Onikan/TBS is a no go area. The streets have been blocked, commercial vehicles are not allowed beyond the roundabout (coming from Awolowo Road & Military ‎Street). For now private vehicles are allowed to go through the roundabout into City Mall - TBS - Kakawa office - General Hospital and beyond.

2.   Vehicles (all cars) coming from Apongbon towards Nitel on Broad St are being diverted into side roads. This means you can't get to State House at the end of Broad Street if you are going to V/I or climbing 3rd MLB. However, outer Marina seems to be moving for now at 8:56:19 AM (coming down from Eko Bridge into V/I and 3rd MLB... but it's only a matter of time before traffic builds up.

Sura might be a good option if coming from ikoyi but expect gridlock within a few hrs.

Plan your journey well.                                                                                                           Bayo Alimi.
