Akwa Ibom State Governor, Godswill Akpabio, will lead the people of Akwa Ibom in opening the Akwa Ibom International Stadium dubbed "the Nest of Champions," Friday, Nov. 7th in Uyo. (more pictures after the cut)
The grand sporting edifice modelled after the Arena in Germany, is an Olympic Sized stadium of 30,000 capacity ultra modern complex. It also boasts 4 -tier covered, seating terrace, all-natural grass, high-tech floodlights, security cameras, 36 emergency exits, bullet proof VVIP and VIP along with other ultra-modern facilities.
Setting the pace in the new chapter of sports in Nigeria, a friendly match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Black Stars of Ghana at 3pm tomorrow, would mark the opening of the Stadium.
