Ask nicely if you want a cheap cup of coffee:Australian Cafe offers discounts for good manners.

The Seven Mile Beach Kiosk Café in Gerroa, New South Wales is out in bringing back the old-fashioned politeness through offering discounts for good manners on how a customer asks for a cup of coffee.

The Café owned by local couple-Kev Chilver and his wife, Kylie Pickett doesn’t just serve good coffee to its customers, but also a lesson in politeness. The nicer you are in asking, the higher the discount you get.

In order not to confuse the customers, they put up a sign outside the café explaining their innovative pricing policy; merely asking for “A coffee” will cost you $5.00. Saying, “A coffee, please” would drop to $4.50 and being so polite “Good morning, a coffee please.” Then they’ll only charge you $4.00.

“Common courtesy is less common, and we’re trying to bring it back, we are in the service industry but we deserve as much respect as anyone else. Please and thank you go a long way," Chilver said

The couple took up this initiative two months ago after one of their employees saw a similar sign in another shop. And ever since they put up the sign, they said their customers have been making an effort to ask nicely.
