Nigeria has official been declared free of the Ebola Virus Disease (EDV) on Monday October 20, by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Speaking in Abuja, WHO representative Rui Gama Vaz
said "The virus is gone for now. The outbreak in Nigeria has been
defeated. This is a spectacular success story that shows to the world
that Ebola can be contained." There had been no new confirmed cases of the deadly virus in Nigeria since after 42 days or two incubation periods.
