US: 'One-in-a-million' conjoined twins born to Atlanta parents

 

A delighted mom and dad in Atlanta-US has welcomed their conjoined twin baby boys who share the same the same body and heart have been born yesterday, Dec. 5th.

Asa and Eli Hamby are one-in-a-million who can never be separated - were welcomed into the world at 7.32am through a pre-planned C-section to mom Robin and dad Michael. According to a dedicated 'Hamby Twins' Facebook page are healthy and well.

'Babies are out and so far they are doing amazing,' an 8am post declared about the 9 pounds, 10 ounce children, 'Both babies crying their little eyes out!!'

Hmmmmm...wonders of nature.

Who are Conjoined Twins?

Conjoined twins are two children physically connected to each other at some point in their bodies.

The lowest odds of this happening are 200,000 to one for every live birth and around 70 percent of conjoined twins are female.

Conjoined twins are always the same sex and the form of conjoined twinning refers directly to where they are joined.

The most most frequent are horacopagus (heart, liver, intestine), omphalopagus (liver, biliary tree, intestine), pygopagus (spine, rectum, genitourinary tract), ischiopagus (pelvis, liver, intestine, genitourinary tract), and craniopagus (brain, meninges). (American Pediatric Surgical Association)

Experts think that conjoined twins come from a single egg that fails to separate.

Around 200 conjoined twins are born each year and around half die before their first birthday.

PDP suspends its former chairman, Bamanga Tukur

The Peoples Democratic Party's National Working Committee has suspended its immediate past Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur. In a statement released this yesterday, Alhaji Tukur was suspended for taking the party to court without 'exhausting the internal redress avenues'. 

Mr. Tukur had recently dragged the party and its current chairman Adamu Mu'azu to court, asking the court to declare his resignation as the party chairman in January null and void. Read the statement after the cut...

CHINA: Cannibal mum tries to eat her own baby shortly after giving birth

A 24 year old woman named Li Zhenghua, was caught by a shocked nurse in local China Hospital trying to eat her own baby shortly after giving birth.

According to local media reports, the attack happened at a hospital in the city of Shenzhen in China’s Guangdong Province. The woman had been found on the streets heavily pregnant and in labour..

However, the nurse, who saw Li eating the infant's arm and as she made to rescue the infant, the crazed mum refused to let the baby go. The nurse immediately raised an alarm and called other hospital staff who helped to rescue the baby.

The homeless woman-Li, is suspected to be mentally unstable, was taken to the hospital where she gave birth and attempted to eat her baby.

His 16-year-old son, Rain got so embarrassed and begged his mom Rochelle to tell his dad to stop accompanying him to the bus stop to wave him off to school. "Don't let Dad go out there again".

Rain's parents were not happy about his request. But with those smiles on Dale's face in every photo, he certainly enjoyed the experience.

Coffin at PDP National Secretariat: Angry Party Members Explain

The aggrieved PDP members who took coffin the National Secretariat of the ruling party in Abuja, yesterday has explained the cause of their grievance that led to their protest. (Read here) The as­pirants said they were disqualified from participating in last week­end River state assemblies primaries, an act which they described as an open robbery perpetrated against them by the party.

An aspirant, Davis Saloka, said they were at the PDP secretariat to kick against the “open robbery perpetrated against them by the party.” He told newsmen that about 107 members of the party paid to obtain the nomination forms, but that only 32 whom he claimed were loyalists of Nyesom Wike, were given what he called “dubious clearance,” while the rest of them were disqualified.

“We all bought forms to participate in the PDP primary election but what we saw was out of the ordinary. We attended the screening exercise but we did not know our fate until Friday night when we saw a list pasted, in­dicating that only 32 persons were cleared to participate in the election.

The 66-year-old king moved to Germany several years ago as a foreign exchange student where he fell in love with the country and decided to live and maybe die there. King Bansah was named successor to the crown in 1987 after his grandfather – the reigning king – died. 

King Bansah was chosen over his father and older brother, because they were left handed, a trait that is considered unclean and indicative of dishonesty in Hohoe.

After his coronation in 1992, King Bansah still lives in Ludwigshafen, near Frankfurt, with his German wife Gabriele, where he runs a car repair garage and also finds the time to govern the 200,000 Hohoe people in southeastern Ghana, through Skype and telephone calls. 

GEJ says to Senators: Focus on National issues not impeachment

President Goodluck Jonathan has asked the Nigerian Senators to focus their energy on war against terror and economic stability, as well as other important National Issues rather than the planned impeachment process against him.

The President made this known in a letter signed by his Special Assistant on Publicity, Dr Doyin Okupe, were he added that all matters political can and will be resolved politically in the overall interest of our democracy and the well-being of our people.

"Gangnam Style" hit music video by South Korean singer, PSY, has broke YouTube's counter, prompting YouTube to upgrade its view limit....

The video which was released in 2012, was announced to be its most watched ever and has been viewed more than 2,147,483,647 times. YouTube has now changed the maximum view limit to 9,223,372,036,854,775,808, or more than nine quintillion.

In a statement posted by YouTube on December 1, partly read: "We never thought a video would be watched in numbers greater than a 32-bit integer... but that was before we met Psy." ‎

Corruption Rating 2014: Transparency International ranks Nigeria 136th most corrupt country in the world

  

Nigeria has been ranked the 136th most corrupt country in the world and the 3rd most corrupt country in West Africa after Guinea and Guinea Bissau by Transparency International.

In its 2014 Transparency International Corruption Perception Index released Yesterday, December 3rd, the group said it ranked 174 countries it surveyed based on how corrupt their public sector is presumed to be. The measurement is based on a scale of 0 to 100 with a score of 0 perceived as "highly corrupt" and 100 "very clean". Nigeria was ranked 136th with an index score of 27.

Nevertheless, North Korea and Somalia bagged the most corrupt countries in the world.

The two countries both received their ranking of 174th - with eight points out of a possible 100 - after factors of corruption within all countries were indexed. While in first place with the world's most honest officials was Denmark, on a score of 92, followed by New Zealand, which scored 91.

Nigeria: Angry PDP Members brings Coffin to PDP National secretariat in Abuja

Life is very valuable oooo. Never knew our politicians value theirs with so much passion.

Hmmmm--The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party,  Adamu Mu'azu and other members of the party's national working committee abandoned their respective offices in Abuja yesterday and flee for their dear lives when angry PDP members stormed the Party's National Secretariat with Coffin.

According to reports, the angry PDP members from Rivers state protested against the leadership of the PDP over the choice of former Education Minister Nyesom Wike as the party's Governorship candidate for River state in the 2015 elections. The protesters barricaded the entrance of the secretariat, stopping everyone who worked at the building from gaining entrance. 

However the group was later dispersed by mobile police and five protesters arrested.

MUMBAI: Indian presenter slapped on live TV for wearing revealing dress

 

Bollywood star Gauahar Khan (pictured clasping hand to cheek) was left distressed after a man in the audience at a singing TV competition she was presenting on Sunday November 30th got up and slapped her for wearing a revealing dress at Film City in Goregaon, Mumbai.

24 year old Akil Malik, took offence at Khan’s backless outfit as she presented the grand finale of Raw Star--a singing competition.  He first started by arguing with the model but finally made his way up on stage and slapped the Gauahar as security tried to escort him off the venue. Thief who 'attacked pensioner' is stripped naked and wrapped in cling film by mob of vigilantes

A would-be thief--32-year-old Valentino Abeyta Barrera--who was allegedly spotted trying to rob an Old Age Pensioner (OAP) by holding a knife to his throat was disarmed, stripped naked and tied to a lamppost with cling film by a mob of vigilantes  in the Chilean capital Santiago. 

Valentino was stripped, had his underpants pulled down, and was then wrapped in plastic cellophane. Photographs of the incident were posted online where they quickly went viral, and sparked heated debate over vigilante justice.

Many said that it made those giving the crook a beating as bad as the crook himself, while others said it showed the lack of faith in the police and the justice system.

One Daniela Montoya Pazo said: "They just had to arrest him, not beat him. This kind of things put us at the same level as the criminals." While another, Daichi Yuka, said: "I would like to do the same thing to the thief who threatened me with a weapon this morning."

Tinubu condemns Kano Triple Bomb Blast: says "...the god of Boko Haram is Satan himself"

A national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, has condemned Friday’s terrorist attack on Kano Central mosque; where more than 100 people died and hundreds more injured--describing the perpetrators as “godless people”.

In a statement delivered in Lagos on Sunday, Ex-Governor of Lagos State, Tinubu said that numerous attacks by Boko Haram on innocent people demonstrate how heinous and debased the group and those who sponsor it have become.

“So depraved, they have become heartless and filled with enmity against all that is good and proper. This was not the act of human beings,” said Mr. Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor. These attacks could only have come from the hands of those who do not know God or Serve God. This is the act of godless people. No reason can be found for what was done except that BH (Boko Haram) has once again shown its lust for innocent blood and its disdain for life peacefully lived. Boko Haram killed people praying to God because the god of Boko Haram is Satan himself."

Speaker Tambuwal wants ‘biased’ judge changed as Court grants PDP permission to declare his seat vacant

The Speaker of the House of Representative, Aminu Tambuwal, has yesterday petitioned the National Judicial Council, NJC, after a member of the House, Abiodun Akinlade, filed a suit asking a Federal High Court in Abuja to sack him as speaker and member of the House.

The suit has been assigned to Court 8, presided over by Justice E.S.J Chukwu, a judge, whose antecedents, the speaker said, cannot guarantee fairness.

However, Mr. Tambuwal’s cites divisions in the PDP as reason for his recent defection to APC, a claim the ruling party rejects and wants him sacked; said Justice Chukwu’s ruling portends bias and asked for the suit to be reassigned to a neutral judge.

“I humbly urge my Lord to re-assign the said Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/871/2014 to a neutral judge, who has not made any judicial pronouncement on the issue, or made public his own opinion on the issue at hand,” Mr. Tambuwal said.

A heartmelting words of a dying mother will make you see your life anew

The moving words below are that of Claire Wood (pictured above), from Southend-on-Sea-UK. She has terminal breast cancer diagnosed a year ago. Claire doesn't know how long she has left to live and will never see her 3-year-old daughter Jessica grow but she has frozen her eggs so that husband Barry can have another child.

Since I was diagnosed a year ago with terminal breast cancer, I’ve learned a great many things. How the mundane stuff — the ordinary chores of everyday life — become an intense and special pleasure when you know your life will be short.

The way your heart swells with pride and love as your toddler runs from nursery into your arms at hometime. The fantastic luck in having a husband who is solid, constant, dependable.

But the lesson I cherish most lies in the outpouring of love I’ve received from my friends. For the support they have given me has been selfless and unstinting.

Perhaps it takes a crisis to fully understand what friends mean to you — but it’s no overstatement to say they have sustained me through my darkest hours, that their countless acts of kindness have carried me through the worst of times.

CHINA: 19-year-old teen live-posts his suicide on Weibo

In recent times, social networking has evolved to something extreme and beyond explanation. It has become a platform for millions of purposes even live posts of suicides and murder intentions...ranging from suicide selfies to suicide videos and posts.

On Sunday, Nov. 30th, a 19-year-old in teen with the last name Zeng from Sichuan-China published a set of grim posts to his Weibo (a microblogging site) account just before his death. According to reports, the motive behind his suicide was related to a failed relationship.
