40-year-old Yasmin Eleby Marries Herself - She's not the first, looks like its a becoming a trend these days

 

Yasmin Eleby-40, has married herself in a dream wedding complete with a fabulous candlelit ceremony and heartfelt vows to forgive, honor and love herself.

It might sound surprising and weird but Yasmin isn't the first. 36-year old Grace Gelder of Britain (pictured right), also married herself after being fed up with dating scene and being single for six years. Grace 'proposed' to herself on a park bench and decided to say "I Do" to herself in a full wedding ceremony with 50 guests, in October last year. (read here)

In Yasmin case, according to BlackArtinAmerica, Yasmin Eleby promised herself that if she hadn't found a mate by the time she was 40, she would marry herself, and she kept her promise. 

 

Yasim chose to have one of her sisters who is a minster, help her say vows, in a spiritual ceremony - because you can't legally marry yourself in America. She says the best part of her special day was having her family there to "stand up" for her. Her other three sisters were bridesmaids and her mom gave her away; or back to herself in this case. 

The website added that details on how this union was consummated,will remain private. However, Yasmin loves to travel and plans to visit Cambodia, Laos, and the jazz festival in Dubai this year, which are to serve as a honeymoon.
