The black and white shot of an
Arizona canyon (pictured above) dubbed "Phathom" by an Austrialian Landscape Photographer, Peter Lik cost a whooping sum of $6.5m (N1,196,000,000) or (£4.1m). The photograph which one can refer to as cliched and tasteless is one out of many nature and panoramic landscape images by Peter.
Peter Lik sold his picture Phantom for the said amount, setting a new record
for the most expensive photograph of all time(World Record). In our world where money talks, and for photographs to be sold at such
inflated price has proofed that photography has arrived as art.
