Meet Mayhem-the 4-Year-Old Fashion Prodigy Hired by J.Crew to Create a New Collection

Remember the saying...catch them when they are young...J.Crew did just that with Super talented Mayhem.

A 4-year-old Mayhem a young and talented blogger and designer whose ingenious after recreating 2014's hottest red carpet looks that included Jennifer Lawrence's strapless Dior confection and Lupita Nyong'o's breathtaking Ralph Lauren cape dress with just tape and construction paper,  has landed her a job at J.Crew. Read US Magazine report below...

Mayhem's mom (and also her assistant paper dress maker), Angie Keiser, shared news that J.Crew's Executive Creative Director Jenna Lyons hired her talented offspring to design a kids collection for the brand's Crewcuts line, to be released during the Summer 2015 season.

"I remember reading the email [from Lyons] and being certain it was a setup," Angie shared via her blog on Dec. 9. "As in, it’s probably some kind of wicked virus that if I reply to it, my laptop will explode or at the very least melt before my eyes. (My thinking is irrational on occasion.)"
After obviously replying yes to Lyons' inquiry email, the mother-daughter duo were off to go make a collection in New York City.
"Mayhem and her new crew all sat down on the floor and played. And made stuff," she wrote. "Out of paper and tape and beads and glue and crayons. And they laughed and hugged and had more fun than I would have imagined. And then they sprinkled their magic J.Crew fairydust on it and turned paper into fabric."  The brand was just as impressed with the young Ohio native. "When we met with Mayhem for the first time we were really curious to see how she would work, and were amazed to watch this barely 4-year-old girl start meticulously folding the pleats on a skirt, and placing stones very specifically and carefully on a top she had just fashioned around herself," J.Crews' Jenny Cooper said in a release.
All of the items will be under $100 (starting at $22.50), with clothing, shoes, and accessories.
