The Hugging Chair-would you own one?

If you don't need a hug from a real human, you can get one from this hugging chair.

A Japanese Company, Unicare has unveiled an anti-loneliness chair called "the tranquillity chair."

The chair is shaped like a giant human doll with a friendly face and tong arms that can wrap around you in an affectionate embrace, and sells for 46,000 Yen ($419) at the International Home Care and Rehabilitation Exhibition in Tokoy.

A Unicare Spokesperson said, “It makes you feel safe. “Anyone can use it, but it is designed for older people.”

According to statistics, Japan's population is currently over the age of 65, a figure
expected to rise to 40 percent in the coming decades. And the Tranquillity chair is just right for its market.
There is also a version of the chair adapted for wheelchair users. Another UniCare's product-"Life Rhythm Dolls" are programmed to remind their owners to take their medicine or go to the toilet at certain times of day.
