Politics: Jonathan honours over 310 citizens



President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has conferred National Honours Awards Investure on over 310 distinguished Nigerians and friends of Nigeria today, at International Conference Center, Abuja.

The long list of recipient dominated by notable names from politics, security issues, sports, entertainment, business, and corporate world, also included other less popular names whose lives depict the very essence of existence.

Over 60 were conferred with Commander of the Order of Federal Republic - CFR to CON, about 54 bagged the Officer of the Federal Republic - OFR, 63 were conferred with OON, 56 bagged MON, while 53 also received the Order of the Federal Republic - MFR. There was also one Federal Republic Medal-First Class - FRM I and Federal Republic Medal-Second Class - FRM II. 

In addition to the awards, the Federal Government placed Pa Micheal Taiwo Akinkunmi, the designer of the national flag in lifetime salary-same with that of any Senior Special Adviser's. Mr. Ime Isua, a taxi driver, who returned the sum of N18m forgotten in his vehicles, a housing accommodation, as well as the Longest steward in the Presidential Villa, Mr. Micheal Onuh, who also received a housing accommodation. 

Other notable recipients of the award include legendary actress, Joke Silva,  Governor of Abia State, Chief Theodore Orji,  Dr. Peter Odili, Honourable Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, amongst others.
