A Chinese man from Guangzhou, who works in a gaming company has spent a whooping 500,000yuan (about $82,000) to buy 99 iPhone 6s in order to stage a love confession stunt to propose to a colleague before the big "Singles' Day" which is today, November 11.
"Singles Day" is celebrated in China every Nov. 11 (11/11) a day chosen of the four lonely 1's, when singles try to woo special someone in their life by pulling off incredible stunts.
As reported by Nanfang, the man, who used up two years' worth of his salary, placed the 99 iPhone 6's on the ground and arranged it in shape of a heart in the middle of the parking lot during a work break.
However, this heartwarming story about love and romance isn't part of the "happily ever after" stories as the female colleague who arrived at the scene after much pressure and cajoling from other co-workers left him heartbroken as she didn't accept his proposal.
There's no word on what this young man will do with his surplus of smartphones—Will he return them all? Will he try to sell them and make a profit? or Will he keep them and hope maybe she'll change her mind and say yes?
The power of love and romance is sure beyond human comprehension, yet very amazing what one could do to satisfy this need. But in this case, even 99 iPhones was not enough to win a woman's heart. See more pix below....
