Ebola-Zapping Robots now being used in U.S. Hospitals

Defense against the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EDV) has taking a tremendous turn-meet the-Ultraviolet Light-zapping robots from San Antonio-based Xenex Disinfection services.

Xenex Disinfection Machines are currently doing battle against viruses and bacteria in 250 hospitals across the U.S., including the hospital in Dallas where Thomas Eric Duncan, the first Ebola patient was treated and eventually died.

The robot uses ultraviolet light-UV-C-to kill virus’s or bacteria’s DNA, for five minutes in a given location, essentially disabling the pathogen and killing it.

Xenex is currently in discussions with the US Department of Defense and several relief organizations about deploying the robots to Africa. As well as several major airlines about disinfecting cabins.

But the question remains, does this UV-C light reaches nooks and crannies of any location where it is used?
