GOOGLE launches the new Nexus 6-Smartphone and Nexus 9-Tablet

 

    

Google has launched the new Nexus 6-Smartphone and Nexus 9-Tablet, both running company's new mobile operating system-Android Lollipop (5.0).

According to Google, Nexus 6 smartphone will arrive in November, with pre-order beginning on October 29 while Nexus 9 will be available to pre-order in the UK from October 17 and will go on sale on November 3.

Nexus 6 Smartphone

The Nexus 6 smartphone-made by Motorola-has a 5.96-inch screen, a powerful 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and comes with a new feature called Turbo Charger, which can give the phone up to 6 hours of battery life from just a 15 minute charge. Also the phone will come in Midnight Blue and Cloud White-colours.

Nexus 9 Tablet

The new Nexus 9 tablet, built by HTC-has a brushed aluminium frame and a soft-grip back. It has an 8.9” display - almost an inch smaller than the iPad - and weighs 436g, a rear 8-megapixel camera and a 1.6-megapixel front snapper and with BoomSound audio. It also has Turbo Charger functionality.

Amazing part of all is that both  the tablet and smartphone can be voice activated without opening any apps by just saying the phrase "Ok, Google". The phones would enable users to give the device commands without using their hands.

Tiwa Savage and Husband-Teebillz breaks the silence over divorce rumours

Reacting to the rumours of a troubled marriage and possible divorce, the music star couple-Tiwa Savage and Teebillz took to twitter on Wednesday October 8th to make known that there are still each others object of fascination.

Teebillz tweeted, #woman crush Wednesday" (which refers to a person one tremendously admires). And Tiwa Savage replied, "All day everyday".

According to reports the couple were spotted all loved up at House on the Rock church this past Sunday October 12th.

The reality stars-Kylie and kendall Jenner made the Time Magazine's 2014 list of the 25 Most Influential Teens, alongside President Barack Obama's daughters-Sasha and Malia. As well as the youngest Nobel Price Winner-Malala Yousafzai.

According to Time Magazine, Kylie, 17, and Kendall, 18, are influential for the below reasons:

EBOLA: Jim Yong Kim warns global community not to isolate Ebola affected countries

The President of the World Bank Group, Jim Yong Kim, has warned the global community to isolate the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) through a swift and collective international effort and not the countries affected by the Ebola epidemic.

Speaking at the 2014 annual meetings of the IMF/World Bank, Yong Kim described Ebola as a worse epidemic than HIV/AIDS and called on individuals, nations and groups across the globe to pick up the pace and deploy every human and material resources required to stop the disease from further spreading in the affected countries and beyond.

“Let’s pick up the pace and do whatever it takes to stop this outbreak. When your house is on fire, you don’t put up a wet towel underneath the door. You send firefighters. It’s the same with the fight against Ebola. We need to send in large numbers of trained health workers, who can extinguish the outbreak. The way to fight Ebola isn’t to close off borders. Instead, we need to offer the best treatment possible for those infected inside the most affected countries. We should isolate Ebola, not Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. We also should once again remind everyone that Africa remains open for business, and that our projections for economic growth for 2015 and 2016 are 5.2 per cent annually, up from 4.6 per cent this year,” Kim said.

 “If you have anything to do, do it now. The more you wait, the worse it gets," the World Bank Chief concluded.

Ebola has killed over 3,400 since its outbreak especially in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. And has recently hit Spain and United States of America.

Amosun escapes unhurt in convoy auto crash

Ogun State Gover­nor, Senator Ibi­kunle Amosun escaped unhurt when his convoy was involved in an accident along Saapade-Ogeere Road on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, yesterday.

The accident which occurred at about 9:30 a.m, involved a commercial bus driver, who reportedly lost control and rammed into the governor’s convoy, dam­aging one of the Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs).

However, it was gathered that two of the Governor's aides sustained injuries along some occupants of another vehicle-a blue Mitsubishi bus, laden with foodstuffs. The accident is said to have occurred at a spot where construction work was ongoing which forced motorists to use two of the four-lane road.
