I Became a Terrorist Out of Love - American Housewife who Converted to Islam

 

A white Islamic militant who christened herself 'Jihad Jane' and was convicted of plotting to kill a cartoonist who satirized the Prophet Muhammad, has claimed her actions were motivated our of love.

Colleen LaRose, 51, of Pennsberg, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to charges including planning a jihad and conspiring to kill Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks in 2011 and was convicted in 2014.  She was sentenced to ten years in prison, but in a recent letter to a criminologist, LaRose said love was behind her crimes.

EFCC confiscate Hotel, Houses, Cars from Suspected Internet Fraudsters

EFCC arrested some internet fraudsters popularly known as 'Yahoo Boys' in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, confiscated hotel, houses they built with the proceeds.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested three suspected internet fraudsters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State - Okpekereke Timothy, Stanley Odjighere, and Teminor Karo. 

The trio are part of a syndicate arrested over allegations of conspiracy, internet scam and stealing from one of the new generation banks to the tune of N806, 208,000.00 (Eight Hundred and Six Million Two Hundred and Eight Thousand Naira). Forty others are still at large. The theft was perpetrated through a system glitch linked to the fraudsters, in which the bank suffered a huge loss of more than N806, 208,000. The petitioner, who works in one of the new generation banks, alleged that a review of transactions involving the bank with Interswitch Nigeria limited revealed that the bank was not reimbursed for the transactions consummated on ATM terminals.

Bird flu hits Lagos and Kaduna - Says Ministry of Agric.

 

According to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development there are new cases of Avian Influenza otherwise known as Bird flu in Nigeria. Avian influenza is an infectious type of viral disease affiliated to birds which can also affect a human being.

The Ministry released a statement yesterday January 15th, and said that there has been an increasing number of deaths of poultry animals in two poultry farms and live bird markets in Lagos and Kano. Test conducted on the dead birds at the National Veterinary Research Institute showed the birds were infected with H5 Strain of Avian Influenza virus, otherwise known as bird flu.

Chris Brown's probation revoked again. Now they want him locked up

Chris Brown's probation in the Rihanna's case has been revoked. This time they want to even lock him up due to a shooting incident that left 5 people injured at a nightclub where he hosted a party over the weekend.

TMZ reports...

Chris Brown has had his probation revoked in the Rihanna case, in part because he was present at 2 separate nightclubs when people inside were shot, and officials are worried about more shootings and think Chris should serve time behind bars.

Chris showed up for a progress report Thursday, when the judge told him the probation report presented multiple problems. First, the report mentions the shooting last Sunday in San Jose when Chris was on stage. Five people were injured.  The judge also said the probation report expressed concern over another shooting at 1OAK during VMA weekend last August. Again, Chris was on stage and several people were shot, including Suge Knight.

46 year old Woman Drugged and Raped 22-year-old Man Until His P***S Became Swollen

A 46-year-old woman was arrested on charges of rape after allegedly raping a young man until his private parts became swollen, police in South Africa said.

Limpopo Police said that the woman of Bolobedu, who was accused of raping the 22-year-old man, was released from custody after posting R1,000 ($86) bail.

The execution that sickened even ISIS: Woman accused of adultery shot by Al Qaeda in Syria

Shocking video has emerged showing a veiled woman being publicly executed by Al Qaeda for alleged adultery - a sentence that has sickened even the Islamic State. The footage shows the woman, who is wearing a black robe and a hijab (headscarf), being ordered to crouch down on the pavement in front of a crowd of masked jihadi fighters in Syria.

Behind her, a militant declares that she has been convicted by an Islamic court of being an adulterer, condemning her for allegedly running a brothel.

A gunmen then pulls out a pistol and shoots her in the head with a single shot as chants of Allahu Akbar - Arabic for God is greatest - ring out from the baying mob.

 

The video, which was posted on social media, has drawn condemnation even from rival Islamists, with one ISIS supporter asking 'which Sharia (Islamic law) is that???'.

GEJ's surprise visit to Maiduguri

President Goodluck Jonathan finally paid a surprise visit to Maiduguri, Borno state earlier yesterday Jan. 15th. A visit which has been long anticipated. GEJ met and addressed Men and officers of the 7 Division Nigeria Army at the Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri and was received at the airport by the state Governor, Kashim Shettima. There've been a mixed reactions on the social media that GEJ's visit to the Insurgent sicken state is late, while others say its better late than never.

Speaking yesterday, Jan. 15th on the recent Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris while on a plane from Sri Lanka to the Philippines, the head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis defending freedom of expression saying its a fundamental human right, ‘you cannot insult the faith of others’

"One cannot provoke, one cannot insult other people’s faith, one cannot make fun of faith. There is a limit. Every religion has its dignity...in freedom of expression there are limits.”

To bring his point home, Pope gestured to a friend and said “If my good friend Dr Gasparri says a curse word against my mother, he can expect a punch. It’s normal. It’s normal. You cannot provoke. You cannot insult the faith of others. You cannot make fun of the faith of others.”

3,700 homes destroyed in Baga, Amnesty Int'l shows satellite images from attack

Amnesty International has released satellite images from the January 2nd and 7th Boko Haram attack in Baga Borno state. Early reports put the death toll from the attack at 2000 but that has been disputed by the Nigerian military who put the death toll at 150. Now, Amnesty International says 3,700 homes were razed.

According to Amnesty Int'l report as carried out by their Nigeria researcher, Daniel Eyre, about 3,700 homes in two villages, Baga and Doron Baga were destroyed by the deadly Islamic Sect. The report says of all the Boko Haram attacks, the one in Baga last week is so far the deadliest.

He was on board a vessel MT Good Success carrying 1,459 metric tonnes of Premium Motor Spirit, instead of the 350 metric tons of Automotive Gas Oil, AGO, it was licensed to carry.

Saudi Man Divorces Wife On-The-Spot for Holding His Hands in Public

A Saudi man, who divorced his wife at an airport, after she tried to hold his hand in public has been slammed by social media users, who even described him as lacking minimum common sense.


According to Gulf News report, the incident occurred at the King Khalid Airport in the capital of Riyadh, where the woman tried to hold her husband's hand and displayed some romantic gestures.

Angelina Jolie condemns Boko Haram attacks

Hollywood Actress, Honourary Dame and UN ambassador, Angelina Jolie has condemned the various attacks by the deadly Islamic sect, Boko Haram in Nigeria. She condemned the terror group's activities  in a statement released on Jan. 13th. 

"Each new crime committed by Boko Haram exceeds the last in brutality. This is a direct consequence of the environment of total impunity in which Boko Haram operates. Every time they get away with mass murder, rape and the enslavement of women and children, they are emboldened." her statement read in part

She, however called on the United States government and the rest of the international community to work together so as to "bring the perpetrators of these attacks to justice".

Ecuadorian beauty queen dies during liposuction procedure she won in contest

A 19yr old Ecuadorian beauty queen and medical student Catherine Cando (pictured above) has died from a during a botched liposuction operation which she got as a prize in a local beauty contest Saturday January 10th.

According to local media reports, Catherine, who is also a medical student won money and cosmetic surgery procedure after beating 23 other girls to win Ecuador's Queen of Durán beauty contest in 2014. Her brother, Daniel Zavela said Catherine initially rejected the surgery because she was young and figured she could lose the weight by working out but caved in when a surgeon pressured her.

"She was thinking about letting someone else have it as a freebie but eventually she agreed to have it just to get him off her back,"  Daniel told the media

NFL player Devon Still's heartbreaking update on daughter's cancer status to fans

NFL player Devon Still's daughter Leah Still is only 4 years and battling neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Little Dad's princess Leah was diagnosed in June 2014 and the Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle  been updating fans on Leah's status via his instagram page. The cancer is still much in Leah even after undergoing surgery to help fight the disease and six months of constant treatment.
